The deadline for obtaining new I.D.s for air travel has once again been delayed.
The Department of Homeland Security announces the deadline to obtain a Real I.D. has been pushed back from May of 2023 to May 2025.
Kent Boyd of the Springfield-Branson Regional Airport tells Ozarks First the Real I.D. Law was passed in response to the 9-11 Terrorist Attacks. The law requires Air Travelers to provide more documents proving their identity before traveling.
Several states had issues getting the proper systems in place with the COVID-19 Pandemic also causing challenges in implementing the law.
More on the story can be found on the Ozarks First Website.
