A strong storm system will move into the Lakes Region Wednesday bringing a chance of heavy rain with possibly another round of winter weather to follow.
Forecasters from the National Weather Service call for rain to arrive late Wednesday afternoon and get heavy at times Wednesday night into Thursday with an inch or two of rain possible. Some strong to severe thunderstorms are also possible Wednesday night.
Thursday, the precipitation is forecast to change over to snow with some minor accumulations possible Some areas may receive minor ice accumulations as well.
The system will move out by Friday and temperatures will quickly warm back up for the coming weekend.
