City of Harrison Parks Director Chuck Eddington announces at Thursday's City Council Meeting that the public will have an opportunity to see renderings of potential park additions and updates on Monday.
The event takes place Monday at the Equity Bank Sports Complex at 6:00 for the proposed playground update and splash pad at that complex. The City has been working with the Northwest Arkansas Economic Development District on a $250,000 matching grant proposal to fund the project.
During a meeting of the Harrison Parks and Recreation Commission earlier this month, Eddington added that the project was selected as this year's application to the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism because of its close proximity to several residential areas plus the need to update the 30-year-old playground to make it ADA Compliant.
The presentation of the proposal to the state will take place in October with a decision expected by the end of the year.
