Process Underway to Reopen Federal Government

As the Federal Government Shutdown goes past 40 days, the light can be seen at the end of the tunnel to the government reopening.

A group of Democrats have agreed to support the latest Senate Republican Bill to reopen the government that has been shutdown since October 1.

Besides the reopening of the government, the appropriations package to fund military construction, veterans affairs, the Department of Agriculture and the legislative branch as well as the continuing resolution to fund the government until January 30 of next year. Although the deal did not include the extension of the Healthcare Tax Credits started during the Obama Administration, Republican Senate Leaders did promise a vote on that issue in December.

Sunday's Procedural Vote in the US Senate is the first step in a series of votes and debates that if successful, would led to the reopening of the government later this week.

A recap of the deal leading to the potential reopening of the government can be found on the Ozarks First Website.
