Harrison IT Director David Wilson discussed the benefits of placer.ai in Harrison
Wilson discussed the technology during his appearance on KHOZ's "Around The Table" broadcast. Placer.ai collects aggregate data. It doesn't moniter or gather individualized data. Wilson acknowledged privacy concerns.
For instance, Placer won't reveal where one shops. In fact, Wilson said the most up-to-date information one can see only goes back two days. It doesn't show real-time results. Furthermore, the IT director said that data comes in groups of 50 or more, and it does not display names. It also does not follow places of worship and schools Aside from the privacy benefit, placer.ai will help Harrison's development.
He said it focuses on traffic pattern data, much like Google Maps. It will help Harrison make decisions. That will also give businesses considering opening in Harrison the information needed before choosing to open in the area.
More was discussed on the broadcast. The full interview with Wilson is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
