American Legion's auxiliary will host a free picnic in Harrison this Saturday from 11 a.m. until about 3 or 4 p.m. to show appreciation to veterans, according to Margaret Puett, the auxiliary's president.
Puett appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" Wednesday to talk about it. The picnic is open to veterans and their families. Puett said it will take place at the park by the swings and splashpad sits. Food will be there.
The auxiliary president said hotdogs, burgers, chips and tea and lemonade are on the menu. Baked beans and potato salad are also up for grabs. It's an opportunity for veterans to meet others and receive honor. More was discussed on the broadcast.
The full interview with Puett is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
