The American Legion is hosting a picnic on April 29, according to Margaret Puett from American Legion.
Puett appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Monday to discuss the event. The picnic is from 11 a.m. to 2 or 3 p.m. Puett said it will take place "at the park on the playground area" and is held specifically "for Veterans, their spouse, and children."
She said the purpose of the picnic is to express gratitude to them for current, past, and future service. "We want them to know we appreciate the sacrifices they and their family have made through the years," Puett said. She also highlighted what food attendees can eat.
Hamburgers, hot dogs and chips are on the menu. Lemonade and sweet tea are the available drinks.
The full interview with Puett is available on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
