Kristy Elrod, advocacy services coordinator for the Ozark Rape Crisis Center and Sexual Assault Advocate Brianna Horn discussed the center and upcoming events on Monday.
The center is one organization involved in the Committee on Sexual Assault Reform (COSAR). "It involves several resources, businesses that come together to discuss issues in the community around sexual assault and sexual violence," Elrod said during KHOZ's "Around The Table" Monday broadcast. COSAR collaborates to combat the issues.
This committee has run since 2019 before COVID-19. The next meeting is July 27 at 1 p.m. at the Ozark Rape Crisis Center. Coming up on Aug. 9 is the first annual summer resource summit. Every local organization involved will be present at North Arkansas College. The Ozark Rape Crisis Center Hotline is 800-818-1189.
All this and more was discussed. The full interview with Elrod and Horn is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
