OZARK, Mo. — An email sent out to students and families at Ozark High School (OHS) outlines changes to the school’s bathroom policy moving forward.
The email, sent out Sunday, says beginning immediately, “all men’s restrooms at the main campus will be closed except for the restroom located in the commons area.”
The move is in response to a growing social media trend where people anonymously post videos of themselves urinating in a litany of places, all public, but not in a traditional restroom.
“This decision comes in response to an inappropriate social media trend that has unfortunately reached our school and others across the country. Recently, some students have been participating in or sharing videos of themselves urinating on surfaces instead of using the restrooms properly. This behavior is unsanitary, disrespectful, and does not reflect the values of our school community,” the email from Dr. Phillip Witt, OHS principal, said.
