Two people from Hot Springs County are involved in a motorcycle crash Friday in Newton County.
According to the report filed by the Arkansas State Police, the crash took place near Lurton just before 1:30 pm when a motorcycle driven by 63-year-old Ronald Cooper of Bismarck attempted to pass a vehicle on Highway 123 when it was met by another vehicle in the other lane. Cooper and a passenger, 52-year-old Angel Cooper, were both thrown from the motorcycle when it swerved to miss the vehicle. Ronald Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene while Angel Cooper was taken to Cox Medical Center in Branson for treatment of her injuries.
Conditions were sunny and dry at the time of the crash according to the ASP Report.
