History and heritage will be celebrated as part of the Opening Weekend at the Shepherd of the Hills.
"Old Ozarks Settlers Days" takes place Saturday and Sunday featuring demonstrating artisans as well as crafts and musicians along with historians giving presentations about the history of the region.
The event will begin Saturday morning at 10:00 and go to 7:30 that day plus run from 10 am- 5pm on Sunday. Admission to the event is $5 per person with kids 12 and under getting admitted for free.
The Society of Ozarkian Hillcrofters is helping coordinate the event with part of the proceeds benefiting that organization.
KRZK's " The Upside" hosts Josh Clark and Russ Willoughby will broadcast live from the event Saturday morning from 10-12.
The Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Drama, which opened for its 61st Season Thursday night, will be presented on Saturday evening at 8:30.
