An unidentified "potential issue" caused the building to close until a repair can be made.
** This story was updated to reflect a correction in the statement from the Judge's office. The Old Federal Building will not reopen on Friday as originally stated. See Below.**
The Boone County Judge’s Office sent out a notification late Thursday morning that the county offices in the Old Federal Building at 201 N. Main Street in Harrison will be closed for the rest of the week and reopen after Martin Luther King Jr. day.
The message stated that the building was closed for, “a potential issue that needed to be inspected.” No other details were given but the message went on the say that repairs won't be made until early next week.
Currently the Old Federal Building houses the Veteran's Service office, County Tax Collector, and County Assessor. All of these offices will open sometime after the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday on Monday, January 17th.
