The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) will continue the tradition of tracking a very important flight tonight.
Since 1955, the agency has been tracking Santa Claus as he delivers presents Christmas Eve. During a recent interview on KRZK’s “Ozarks Now” program, FOX News Radio Reporter Tonya J Powers talked about the beginning of the tradition which happened by accident when a misprint in a newspaper of a phone number to call Santa accidentally connected a young caller with the Continental Air Defense Command which three years later became NORAD. The person who answered the phone told the caller that they were tracking Santa and the tradition started.
Now, the agency has officers on duty to answer calls as well as ways to track Santa online plus a whole web page with Santa information.
Contact number for NORAD's Santa Tracker is 1-877-HI-NORAD (1-877-446-6723) or online at noradsanta.org.
