The Newton County Library, in partnership with Buffalo National River (BNR), is hosting a historical presentation on “The History of Camp Orr High Adventure Base,” Thursday evening at 5.
Camp Orr is a Boy Scouts accredited camp and hosts a variety of activities and camping events for Scouts and Scouters, including Summer Resident Camp for 11 to 18-year-old youth. Scout Troops from Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana routinely attend Camp Orr.
In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Buffalo National River, Christian Swaim, a Scout leader for 27 years, will give the presentation.
This event, at the Newton County library in Jasper, is free and open to the public.
