Nearly 7000 Customers Lose Power After Major Transmission Line Knocked Down

Nearly 7000 White River Valley Electric Customers in four counties were without power for several hours Wednesday evening after a tree was cut down and fell into a transmission line near Sparta.

Nearly 7000 White River Valley Electric Customers in four counties were without power for several hours Wednesday evening after a tree was cut down and fell into a transmission line near Sparta.

White River states in a Facebook Post that the line belonged to one of their power providers and knocked out power to a large area over 6000 of the outages in Christian County in areas around Sparta as well as Selmore and Spokane. Around 500 Customers in Stone and Taney Counties were also impacted by the outage as were 20 customers in Douglas County.

According to the co-op, all power has now been restored.
