A man from Missouri dies in a traffic crash Thursday afternoon in Arkansas.
The Arkansas State Police reports the crash happened at the intersection of State Highway 23 and County Road 102 when a Jeep was making a turn off the highway onto the county road when a motorcycle was trying to negotiate a nearby curve at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle hit the passenger side of the Jeep and threw the driver off of the motorcycle, identified as 46-year-old Dennis Gacus of Carl Junction.
Gacus died in the crash while the driver of the Jeep was not injured according to the Arkansas State Police Report.
This is the 208th person to die in traffic crashes worked by the Arkansas State Police in 2023.
