A minor earthquake has been reported in Marion County.
The United States Geological Survey says the 2.0 quake was recorded at 1:13 Thursday afternoon 4.6 miles east of Diamond City in northwest Marion County. The location is 21.5 miles northeast of Harrison and 26.5 miles west, northwest of Mountain Home.
Experts say normally, earthquakes below magnitude 3 are rarely felt. However, smaller quakes from magnitude 2.0 can be felt by humans if the quake is shallow (few kilometers only) and if they are very close to its epicenter and not disturbed by ambient factors such as noise, wind, vibrations of engines, traffic, etc.
Anyone who felt the quake can let the USGS know on their website.
