The City of Harrison continues to make presentations about a matching state grant of $250,000 that could help get a new playground and splashpad in Harrison.
After an onsite presentation open to the public earlier this week, Harrison Parks and Recreation Director Chuck Eddington appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Wednesday to discuss the project. The new play area would sit at Equity Bank's sports complex. Eddington said the project costs $500,000.
The city would help meet the project's financial requirement. "We would match the $250 with the state, which is through the Arkansas Parks and Tourism grant," Eddington said. He added that the department will know by October or December what the decision is regarding the grant.
Earlier, the director highlighted why the department decided to pursue a grant for this development. He explained that community feedback drives what grants are sought after. More was discussed on the broadcast.
The full interview with Eddington appeared is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
