
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man in Flippin.
According to a press release from Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander, on Tuesday at approximately 4:45, deputies and first responders were called to a residence along Flintridge Lane for a report of an unresponsive person. Witnesses told deputies they drove past the property and observed a male slumped over the steering wheel of a tractor and stopped to check on him. They stated he was unresponsive, prompting them to call 911. The Marion County Coroner responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Authorities identify the victim as 68-year-old Mark B. Hermann of Flippin. Family members told law enforcement Hermann left his residence around noon to do some work on his road. They stated it was not unusual for Hermann to stay out and work all day and he had previously suffered from a heat stroke.
The temperature was reported to be approximately 100 degrees at the time of the incident.
