The Emergency Management Director of Marion County is honored by a state agency.
In a meeting last week of the Marion County Quorum Court, Melissa Penn was honored by the Arkansas Geographic Information Systems Office for her efforts in improving the county’s 911 systems and fire district boundaries.
According to a story from KTLO, Penn has led Marion County to become one of the first in the state to put Next Generation 911 technology in place in the state. The system helps provide more accurate data for firs responders when responding to an emergency.
The story also details Penn's efforts to update fire district boundaries to help residents get the best response times from the nearest fire district.
The complete story can be found on the KTLO Website.
