A man granted release prior to a trial in Illinois flees the jurisdiction and is eventually arrested in the Lakes Region.
According to several media sources in Quincy, Illinois, 39-year-old William Whidbee Jr. was arrested by Branson Police Officers after he had fled from Adams County just hours after he had been granted a pre-trial release on September 26 for Domestic Battery Charges. Whidbee allegedly cut off the ankle bracelet issued to him after his release and left the area.
Investigation by Quincy Police led to the discover that he was heading to Branson after which local authorities contacted Branson Police, who in turn located the suspect and arrested him.
Whidbee is currently in the Taney County Jail in Forsyth awaiting extradition back to Adams County.
