A Branson man is dead after getting runover by a SUV in a parking lot in Indian Point Sunday night.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol worked the scene of the accident that occurred before 11:00 when 52-year-old Eric Richards was assisting a man unhook a trailer from the SUV. After the trailer was unhooked, the driver of the SUV exited the vehicle but failed to put it in park with the vehicle running over Richards, who was pronounced dead at the scene by Taney County Coroner Larry Summers.
This is the 69th fatality in accidents worked by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 2023.
