A man is facing nearly a dozen charges, four of them felonies, for an incident in March at the Buffalo National River.
According to court documents, 37-year-old Justan Michael Taylor of Batesville is facing charges for the incident at Woolum Campground. The probable cause affidavit filed by the National Park Service says a ranger was dispatched to the campground for a disturbance that was being caused by Taylor, who was threatening to shoot several campers and stabbed one person. Taylor had been detained by an off-duty Arkansas Game and Fish Warden and another camper prior to the ranger’s arrival. Taylor had the smell of alcohol according to the report and was later found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
Taylor is in the Searcy County Jail on a $50,000 Bond and was arraigned for the charges on Tuesday.
