A man from out of state is injured after being shot be an acquaintance Saturday night.
The release from the Branson Police Department is below:
On the evening of November 22nd, Branson PD Officers responded to the 2400 block of State Hwy 165 on report of a person shot.
Responding officers found a 51 year old resident of Racine, WI, suffering from a gunshot wound to the pelvic area. The victim was transported to a Springfield hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Subsequent investigation led officers to arrest an acquaintance of the victim for the shooting. 62 year old Michael J.D. Wilson, of Marshall, MO., was booked in to the Taney County Jail on probable cause for 2nd Degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
There is no ongoing threat to the public and BPD wishes to remind our community that firearm ownership requires responsible use and to never handle a firearm while intoxicated.
