An incident reported in 2023 has led to a plea deal for the person charged with having sex with a minor.
Court Documents indicate that this past week, 42-year-old Shawn Tremier Anderson of Harrison agreed to a plea that will have him serving five years in prison after pleading guilty to a Class D Felony of Sexual Indecency with a Child.
The Probable Cause Affidavit filed in 2024 indicates that a report was made in late 2023 of a then 14-year-old girl having sec with Anderson, who was the boyfriend of his mother. A statement was given to authorities by the girl indicated they had sex several times at his apartment in Harrison as well as at her residence in Jasper. According to the affidavit, the girl said that Anderson was a father figure for her and that they would exchange text using her mom's phone.
The plea agreement was finalized in March of this year and signed last Tuesday.
