Kimberling City 50th Birthday Celebration Saturday

A lakes area community celebrates their beginnings this weekend.

Kimberling City is hosting a daylong event celebration of their 50th year as an incorporated city.

The celebration goes from 12:00 to 9:00 pm Saturday along Kimberling Blvd. and at the Community Center/City Hall Building. Live music takes place throughout the day along with crafts and family activities with several vendors also taking part. City officials remind motorist that the section of Kimberling Blvd. between Marina Way and Bayfront will be closed to thru traffic during the celebration.

The Table Rock Lake Art Guild will hold a show during the day and there will be a Silent Auction to benefit the Kimberling City Park Board.

The area began to develop shortly after the formation of Table Rock Lake with the completion of the dam in 1958 with the area around the Highway 13 Bridge over the lake being incorporated as Kimberling City in 1973.

More details on the celebration can be found on the Kimberling City Facebook Page.
