Jeremiah Recovery House Hosts Motorcycle Ride Fundraiser This Saturday

Today for a Better Tomorrow happens in Eureka Springs on Sept. 28, according to Vickie Poulson.

Poulson founded the Jeremiah Recovery House. She appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about the event which will start and end at A Cup of Love. She said this is its seventh year. It's a "poker run" or motorcycle ride, but people can participate with cars. Poulson explained that each year a different need comes into focus.

The current focus is helping people who can't get substance abuse treatment. Poulson talked about a scholarship that makes that possible. Its funds are gone, so the run will help replenish the funds that have assisted people.

She said God impressed it on her heart to start a place in which people could experience healing. Poulson cited Jeremiah 29:11. The recovery house once worked exclusively with women by offering sober living.

But, Poulson discovered that more was needed. She offers a two-year program now.

Now she wants to launch a detox and residential center. There's a possibility that her organization will receive a grant to make that a reality; she asks for prayer that God will make that happen. More was discussed on the broadcast.

The full interview with Poulson is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
