An organization dedicated to action in combating hunger in Arkansas is honoring an area school official in her efforts in this area.
According to a report by KTLO, Jasper Public School Nutrition Director Tina Byrd will be recognized with the Alliance’s Acting Out Against Hunger Award and an event on Thursday. According to the report, the award is given each year to individuals, businesses, and non-profits across the state to honor outstanding service to the Alliance and the six Feeding America Food Bank’s serving Arkansas.
Besides her work with the Jasper School District, Byrd works closely with the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas on several programs and serves on the Food Bank’s Member Agency Council.
