A man from Iowa dies when he attempted to make a U-turn on Highway 65-62 near Bear Creek Springs early Sunday morning.
68-year-old Dennis Visser was driving his pick-up truck southbound and attempted the U-turn which took his vehicle into the path of a commercial truck also going southbound. The two vehicles collided and came to rest in the northbound lane.
Visser was pronounced dead as a result of the crash while two passengers in the his vehicle were taken to North Arkansas Regional Medical Centere in Harrison for treatment of their injuries. The driver of the commercial truck, not named in the report, was not reported as injured in the crash.
This is the 596th Fatality in Traffic Crashes worked by the Arkansas State Police in 2021.
