A body discovered in Hollister on Thursday is being investigated.

The Hollister Police Department is conducting a death investigation after a deceased individual was located earlier today within the city limits.
At approximately 1:22 pm, officers were dispatched to the area of Business Hwy 65 and Megan Dr after receiving a report of an unresponsive subject. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male who was determined to be deceased at the scene.
The Hollister Police Department has initiated a comprehensive investigation. At this time, the cause and manner of death remain undetermined. The Taney County Coroner’s Office has taken custody of the deceased and will conduct a full examination.
There is no immediate threat to the public, and the department is committed to ensuring a thorough and transparent investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available and as the investigation allows.
The deceased identity will not be released at this time out of respect until family can be notified.
