Linda Apple is a Rogers, Arkansas-based author who loves to inspire with her speech and writing.
Apple appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about her work. She didn't begin writing until she hit her forties but has held a love for words in her for a while. After all her children journeyed out on their own, that love for words morphed into actual storytelling.
She kicked off by attending a writing class. She sold 16 personal stories to Chicken Soup for the Soul. She utilized a fiction technique she learned in a writers' group. She used it for her nonfiction work.
A big fan of Mark Twain, Apple pointed to a quote of Twain's: A drop of ink may make millions think. She said that's what she does as an inspirational speaker.
She was a speaker before she become a writer. Apple desired for people to know their worth and never give up.
She has written seven children's books. However, she never wanted to write books for kids. She launched into women's fiction first.
Apple's books are available online. More was discussed on the broadcast.
The full interview with Apple is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
