Shirley McCutchen from Hope Cottages talked Monday about the recent fundraiser and the hopes to raise a little more as a last push.
McCutchen spoke about this on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Monday. She said the three-month fundraiser seeks to finish building three more units. The proceeds from this fundraiser will help Hope Cottages finish the project; the organization gives assists homeless women and children. McCutchen said a generator is needed.
She said that Hope Cottages has freezers with meat, so if the electricity goes out, they want to be prepared. McCutchen said the cottages run on volunteers and donations. The fundraiser ends on Oct. 31.
Money used at pump number four at the White Oak gas station goes into the fundraiser. It's on Capps Road close to the high school. Donations in the form of checks can also be mailed to Hope Cottages PO BOX 9772602.
The complete interview with McCutchen is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
