Homicide Investigation Underway in Searcy County

The death of a woman in Searcy County is being investigated as a homicide.

According to a release from the Searcy County Sheriff's Office, 69-year-old Mona Sloop was found deceased at her residence on Shady Grove Road Tuesday.  

Sheriff Kenny Cassell says in the release that the Sheriff’s Department is being assisted by the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division in working the case.

Sheriff Cassell did not release any specifics in the release but did say he believes this to be an isolated incident.
