Newton County hiker flags down a motorist after spending two day lost in the woods.
Theresa Beshara-Cox of Pruitt was reported missing on Monday morning after going on a hike near Hawksbill Craig in Newton County and was found alive late Wednesday morning.
The Harrison Daily Times reported that when she started her hike it was prior to daylight and after going the wrong direction she became lost. Taking shelter under a bluff she stayed there two days before she decided to start walking, fearing that she wouldn’t be found otherwise.
Eventually she found a driveway that led to a road where she was able to flag down a passing motorist.
Beshara-Cox has been reunited with her family and Newton County Sheriff Glen Wheeler said, “She was really, really happy to see her son and boyfriend.”
