Several state and area officials attend a meeting in Mountain Home this week discussing the future expansion and development of the U.S. Highway 412 corridor through northern Arkansas.
The meeting was hosted by the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce and was hosted by Richard Sheid, a founding member of the North Arkansas 412 East/West Corridor Association. Sheid says one of the keys to economic expansion in northern Arkansas is the development of the corridor with more four-lane and passing lane sections.
Highway 412 runs over 250 miles through the state entering from Oklahoma at Siloam Springs and goes all the way to the St. Francis River where it enters Missouri. Over half of 412 in the state is concurrent with U.S. Highway 62 starting in Alpena at the Boone-Carroll County Line. Both Highways are concurrent with U.S. Highway 65 through Harrison and Bellefonte.
A full recap of the presentation is on the KTLO Website.
