The cool conditions in the Lakes Region continue through the weekend with rain chances increasing then more normal August temperatures during the week.
Rain begins to move into the area this afternoon and this evening with the daytime highs in the upper 70s to around 80. Rain chances pick up overnight into Monday with areas of heavy rain expected. Some parts of the Lakes Region could see two to three inches of rain during the period with isolated amounts up to five inches possible. Some flooding is possible in areas that get repeated rounds of rain but no other severe weather is expected.
After the rain moves out Tuesday, temperatures are expected to heat back up with highs in the 90s and Heat Index readings around 100 beginning Wednesday through the resto of the week.
