The Heat Wave continues through the region with elevated fire risk a threat but relief is forecast for later next week.
Heat Advisories extend throughout the Ozarks and include all of Missouri and most of Arkansas through the weekend. Heat Index readings are forecast to hit 105-110 today and Sunday. Meanwhile, some stronger winds are causing an elevated fire risk on top of the hot and dry conditions. Many counties in Arkansas are under Burn Ban orders.
It does look like that the heat will finally break next week as a frontal system will bring a chance of rain beginning Wednesday afternoon and continuing for the rest of the week. Temperatures are expected back around 90 by Thursday.
