Have Recent Rains Impacted the Drought Levels?

The latest map from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows recent rains continue to impact the Missouri part of the Lakes Region to a greater extent but still helping northern Arkansas as well.

The rounds of rain have all be eliminated the drought in the Missouri Ozarks with only southeastern Taney County and southern Ozark County remaining Abnormally Dry. 

In the meantime, the Drought Areas in northern Arkansas remain almost identical to last week with areas southeast of a Berryville-Omaha Line still at a Severe Level with the exception of central Newton County which is at and Extreme Drought Level. 

While several areas remain dry, water levels have been impacted as several areas of the Buffalo National River have reached Flood Stage during the rounds of storms, though none are at that level currently. 

Several more rounds of rain are in the forecast through the weekend.
