An idea from an intern for the City of Harrison has grown into a charity event in December.
Ashley Copeland is interning with the city from North Arkansas College and says during an interview on KHOZ’s “Around the Table” program that she approached city officials about a fundraiser pitting the police vs. fire departments.
Copeland said her parents were both in law enforcement and saw the friendly rivalry between the first responders and it led to a Battle of the Badges Basketball Game Saturday December 13 at Harrison High School with the proceeds to go to the Fire and Police Foundations.
The full interview with Copeland and Donna Braymer from the city can be found on the Around the Table Facebook Page.
