Harrison Schools Events Active and COVID-19 Numbers Down

Harrison events are underway and COVID-19 numbers are down.

Harrison Schools Superintendent Dr. Stewart Pratt spoke with KHOZ’s Around The Table on Friday about the events as well as COVID-19. “The fall is a great season for school and everybody gets kind of started, but we have a lot of events going on.” Pratt said they are utilizing voluntary mask-wearing and “I know that makes a lot of people happy and that’s good.” He said the hope is to have school every day and that “it’s not about getting into the mask, non-mask.” “ACHI data, I think this week we’re down to 25 [COVID-19] cases per 10,000 which is really good.

Pratt said that while they have had a pep band, the school now has a jazz band. “Jazz band competes against other jazz bands. It’s like marching band and instrumental concert band.” The jazz band played at Balloon Fest; they also played at Harvest Homecoming this last weekend. Pratt said cross country is starting soon and volleyball is preparing for distract and conference games. “Tennis has done really well.” He said they won conference and boys and girls tennis; tennis goes to state on Monday. Girls golf placed sixth in state; Pratt said they played really well.

The full interview with Pratt is on Around The Table’s Facebook Page.
