The City of Harrison recently passes an ordinance in regard to noise and data centers.
In a special meeting last week, the council passed an emergency noise ordinance addressing Act 851.
In a press release, the city says the seven-page ordinance states that a person or operation will be in violation if the sound level emanating from the Data Center exceeds 60 dBa or higher during the hours of 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. or 50 dBa from 10 p.m. until 8 a.m.
The city passed the ordinance is another step several communities are taking in reaction to the recently passed state crypto mining bill.
