A plan to add a splash pad at a Harrison City Park is closer to reality thanks to grant and private donations.
The full release from the City of Harrison is below:
Executive Director Chuck Eddington accepted the honorary check from the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism for a $150,000 matching grant for the all-inclusive park and splash pad planned for the Equity Bank Sports Complex.
Thanks to the generosity of the local Kiwanis Club, which is donating $100,000, the $400,000 project should be completed by the end of this year.
Eddington said much of the City’s contribution to the matching grant will be made with in-kind services and labor, in partnership with the Water and Sewer Department and the Parks Department.
Mayor Jerry Jackson said, “We are thankful that with most of our Parks Projects over the last several years, we have been able to partner with local civic groups, grants, or invested families.”
