Harrison Parks and Recreation Committee Hears New Discipline Policy Proposal

The recent meeting of the Harrison Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee included the unveiling of a new policy involving conduct at the city's park facilities.

According to a post on the city's Facebook page, the Committee heard the specifics of a new Discipline Policy and Incident Report.

According to the policy, a first violation would receive a warning with a second violation resulting in a one-month suspension. Another violation could lead to a one-year or greater period of being banned from facilities.

Parks Director Chuck Eddington says in the release, “I feel good about this policy the committee designed. We always want to maintain a safe environment for all our members and guests. Plus, we want to keep our equipment and facility in good condition.”

Another aid in helping maintain security has been the the Harrison School District Resource Officers, who have been on duty at Creekside while school is out for the summer.

Complete details on the recent advisory committee meeting can be found on the City of Harrison Facebook Page.
