At the Harrison City Council meeting Thursday night, the Christmas Lights Contest winners were recognized.
Explore Harrison's executive director, Matt Bell, sponsored the Christmas Lights Contest with the City. Dennis Pelerin and Beverly Bear presented the three winning families. Donnie Bailey’s family received third place. Tonya and Eric Sherburne took second place, and Dr. Brent Rosson’s family took first place.
The contest was started to honor the late Carl Bear, who loved decorating for Christmas. After his death, the community wanted a way to remember and honor him. Beverly said, “This is such an honor to keep ‘my darlin’s’ legacy alive. He always made sure his decorations pointed others to the true meaning of Christmas and the birth of Jesus Christ. Thank you to everyone who participated. It was great seeing Harrison lit up for Christmas.” Congratulations to each family who decorated and to these outstanding winners.
