Harrison Couple Facing Arson Charges in Scheme to Collect Insurance Money

A couple is in trouble with the law after allegedly trying to burn down a house they owed to collect insurance money.

Court documents indicate that 47-year-old Jacob Wayne Trimble and 42-year-old Holly Anna Trimble are facing charges of Arson for the fire at their house on North Cherry Street in Harrison in January of 2025.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed by the Harrison Fire Department, an investigation by their department as well as insurance investigators indicated that there was two different sources of the fire and that evidence didn't support the claim that the fire started only in the laundry room. The investigation further revealed that the Trimbles had not lived at the house for some time but had been residing in an apartment. Several Facebook posts by them indicated they were behind on payments on the house and were trying to sell the property.

The Trimbles were released after each posting a $25,000 bond and are scheduled for an appearance in Boone County Circuit Court on June 1.
