Harrison City Council Passes Revised Sales Tax Ballot Language on First Reading

The Harrison City Council passed on a First Reading revised language to place a Sales Tax on the Ballot in November that will replace the one set to expire at the end of the year.

The council had previously passed the two ordinances that would put the tax on the ballot but a couple of revisions on the language of the ballot led to it being reintroduced at Thursday's meeting. 

The issue will be brought up again at the next meeting on July 23 and read twice for final approval to meet the deadline for being on the ballot. 

The tax, which helps fund police and fire services among other items for the city, was defeated when it came up for renewal in March.
