April is Child Abuse Awareness Month, and according to Kaleigh Evans Grandma’s House is busy; Evans appeared on KHOZ’s “Around The Table” on Wednesday.
Evans said that ten children were seen in one day last week across all three Grandma’s House locations. Evans attributed some of the busyness to families being together during spring break and that abuse comes in waves.
“I want everyone to know where we’re at and what we’re doing,” Evans said. Grandma’s House is a children’s advocacy center that serves seven counties in Arkansas. According to the website, “Grandma's House works with Local Law Enforcement Agencies, Arkansas State Police, Local Hospitals, School Districts, Prosecutor's Offices, and the Arkansas Department of Human Services-Division of Children and Family Services.”
Volunteers are needed at Grandma’s House. The full interview with Evans can be found on the “Around The Table” Facebook Page.
