With gas prices slowly coming down from record highs here's where Boone and surrounding counties stand.
Gas prices across the county have been coming down consistently over the last two weeks and that includes Boone County along with all other Northern Arkansas Counties.
The statewide average is at $4.331 which is down two cents from yesterday and eight cents from a week ago according to AAA. The national average, which rose above $5.00 a gallon in June for first time since prices have been recorded but now is sitting at $4.752.
In Boone County the average is $4.515, Carroll County is at $4.46, Searcy County at $4.24, Marion County at $4.431, Baxter County at $4.34. Newton County currently has the highest average price of any county in the state at $4.711.
The cheapest county in Arkansas is Green County which has an average price of $3.988 and is the first and currently the only county in Arkansas whose average has fallen below four dollars a gallon.
