A company out of Illinois has made a voluntary recall of frozen waffles due to possible listeria contamination.
According to a release from Treehouse Foods posted by the Food and Drug Administration, more than 500 varieties of frozen waffles sold across the United States and Canada are impacted by the recall.
A follow-up report from Ozarks First says the waffles have been sold at many retailers. Some of those in the Lakes Region include Aldi's, Dollar General, Price Chopper, Target, and Wal-Mart.
Listeria can cause some minor symptoms for healthy individuals but infants and elderly individuals plus those with weakened immune systems.
Earlier this month, a company in Oklahoma recalled several meat products due to possible listeria contamination while this summer, a lunch meat product had a similar recall on their products.
More information on this recall can be found on the Ozarks First Website.
