Fourth of July fun is coming to Lead Hill.
Andrea Smith and Kody Brown appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about the rodeo and "showdeo." Smith said the "showdeo" is on July 4 while the rodeo is on July 5 and 6. She explained that the "showdeo" is meant for younger attendees from 18 and under. Participation in the "showdeo" requires onsite registration at 6:30 a.m. with a start time of 8 a.m.
That event includes things like goat tying and untying, barrel-racing and more. The fifth and sixth is mostly for adults and will include bulls, horses and more.
The rodeo barrel-racing registration closes on July 4 at 9 p.m. Registration is online. Brown is a rodeo producer; registration for his events close at 7 p.m. every night.
He got his start raising bucking horses. He now produces rodeos in Missouri and Arkansas. The rodeo producer was raised in Alpena.
Later, he talked about retiring horses. More was discussed on the broadcast.
The full interview with Smith and Brown is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
